Text Box: Race reports 2006 New York City Marathon - 05/11/06 Congratulations to Jon Aston and Kim Brown for completing the ING New York City Marathon in times of 4:23:43 and 5:21:16 respectively. Full results can be found here. Flying Fox 10M - 05/11/06 Times for this ten-miler were: Karen Hackett 98:29, Pat Adams 98:29 and Catherine Pearson 103:20. Well done ladies. Wrekin Wrecker - 05/11/06 This race saw Darren Fisher's debut into fell racing! an 8 miler with over 2400 feet of ascent, no mean feat. Darren finished in 85th place in 1:47:41 beating 8 other competitors despite hitting the wall. Anthony Nicholls finished in an amazing time of 1:08:50 in 16th place. Notable absentees were Wendy Searle and Tom Portman; one with a hangover and one arranging a christening. We'll let you decide who was doing which. (Poor excuses either way!) Race you to the Summit - 29/10/06 Race you to the Summit was not my best race. Not only was I photographed looking as though I could hardly stand up, but I was slower than last year and felt rubbish all the way round. Probably the wedding on Friday afternoon which had involved a lot of food and drink didn't best prepare me. As you can see, it was a lovely day though. Anyway, Though the Villages (a very quirky 8 miles 781 yards road race with very little flat and interesting hills), yesterday was a much better run for me. Paul Muller came over to say hello at the start. He's not raced much these last few months due to injury and his mum's death. He was full of excuses as he set off, but still managed to be 1st MV45 and 7th overall. Didn't see him at the end, but am sure he wouldn't think this was good enough! I was 13/27 LV40 in a time of 1:13:32 which was a PB (only done it once before 2 years ago) and managed to keep Louise Gilchrist (a phenomenal LV70) in sight for most of the race, which is an achievement for me. So now it's two weeks of being sensible and then the Jersey Half. Cheers, Linda Edmondson Snowdon Marathon - 29/10/06 Tony Nicholls and Wendy Searle competed in the Snowdon Marathon on Sunday 29th October. Tony completed in 3:28:17 and Wendy in 4:46:25 Kath and Ken in Reims, France   Kathy Ling and Ken Richards were in Reims on 15th October with Staffs Morlands Runners. Kathy posted a time of 1:12:19 for the 10km and Ken, 2:02:40 for the half-marathon. Click here for details of Staffs Morlands Trip to Amsterdam being run next year.
